Irene Blakey Obituary
Irene Szanyi Blakey, age 84, of Plant City, FL passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on August 13, 2020.
A native of Plant City, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Irene Horvath Szanyi.
Survivors include children, James Raymond (Cheryl) Blakey, Suzanne Michelle Blakey; grandchildren, Leah Blakey, Melissa Blakey, Lauren Neilson; great grandchildren, Isabella Blakey, Bailee Stout, Chloe Huskey, Jessalyn Stout, Barrett Neilson.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years James Ray Blakey, Son, Michael Anthony Blakey; grandson, Anthony James Hitson, and great granddaughter, Mikayla Jade Offerley.
Irene was a dedicated member of St. Clement Catholic Church of Plant City. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cats and birds. She loved her family, and was a dedicated mother and wife. She also loved the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Buccaneers.
Irene was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and enjoyed sharing recipes with her family.
A graveside will be held on Monday August 24, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
