Homer Jackson, a cherished father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Lake Alfred, Florida, at the age of 76. Born on February 4, 1949, in Lepanto, Arkansas, Homer was a man whose life was as rich and fulfilling as the soil of the land he hailed from.
Homer was known for his handy and selfless nature, always willing to lend a hand or share his expertise with anyone in need. His adventurous spirit was reflected in his love for the outdoors, where he found solace and joy in fishing, a pastime that brought him both peace and excitement. Homer's passion didn't end at the lake's edge; he was also an avid thrifter, always on the lookout for hidden treasures and rare finds. His keen eye for detail and appreciation for history led him to amass an impressive collection of antique cars and guns, each piece with its own story that he would enthusiastically share with others.
Beyond his hobbies and interests, Homer will be remembered most for the love and dedication he showed his family. He was a devoted father to his children, Sherry Jackson Elias and Jamie Jackson Young, and a doting grandfather to his six grandchildren, whose achievements and milestones were his greatest pride. His sister, Barbara Jackson, will fondly recall the bond they shared, filled with laughter and mutual support.
Though his family feels the profound loss of his presence, they take comfort in knowing that Homer is now reunited with his beloved wife, Janice Jackson, and his dear son, Greg Jackson, who preceded him in death. The memories they created together will forever be cherished and celebrated by those who knew them.
Homer's life was a testament to the values of hard work, integrity, and generosity. His selfless nature extended beyond his family, touching the lives of friends and community members alike. Whether he was fixing a neighbor's car or sharing his latest thrift store find, Homer's actions were always guided by a desire to bring happiness to those around him.
As we bid farewell to Homer, we reflect on a life well-lived, a journey marked by the love he gave and the love he received. His legacy will continue through the stories told by his grandchildren, the projects completed by his own skilled hands, and the countless memories shared by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In celebrating Homer Jackson's life, we honor a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left the world a better place. His spirit, characterized by his handiness, adventurousness, and selflessness, will continue to inspire and guide us. Though he may have cast his final line into the waters of this life, his catch will be cherished by his family and friends for generations to come.
