Hilbert Lamar Culpepper, age 88, of Brandon, FL passed away on October 19, 2021.
Born in Rentz, Georgia, he was raised in Hillsborough County, Florida from the age of four. He was the son of the late Henry Lee and Myrtle Alligood Culpepper.
Hilbert was of the Baptist faith and loved The Lord, and adored his family. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, silk-screening, taking care of his yard, and making up songs, and singing them to his children, a tradition he carried down to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Culpepper served in the U.S. National Guard. He cherished his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandgrandfather, brother, and uncle.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 36 years Patricia Culpepper; children, Katherine (Jerry) Jaeger, Deborah Olson, Connie Culpepper, Karen (Randy) Barner, siblings, Shirley Culpepper Pace and Everett Culpepper; thirteen grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Temple, Michael Mraz, Sean (Adrian) Olson, Ouida (Philip, pre-deceased) Nason, Angel Stone, Katielee Lunt, Erica Hendricks (Dennis Schultz), Justin (Melissa) Olson, Kendra Olson, William (Andrya) Robbins, Stacie (Richard) Fisher, Jessica (Lindsay) Perry and Melissa Williams; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Emma, Cadin, Jeremiah, Tyler, Julianna, Shayla, Kohl, Jackson, Gwendolyn, Madeline, William, Reese, Abigail and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Alva, Bud, J.C., Oblin, Carrol, Erma Hathcock, Charles, Faye Ballard, and his grandson Richard Jaeger, and granddaughter, Whitney Andress, his mother- in- law Mabel Valentin.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Haught Funeral Home Chapel, 708 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Plant City, FL 33563. Funeral services will be held on October 27,2021 at Haught Funeral Home at 11:00 AM
