Reverend Herman Sears, age 79 of Plant City, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 23, 2020.
Herman was the son of the late Archie and Dora Sears and is also preceded in death by his sister LaFane Day.
Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of over 59 years, Ilene Sears; beloved daughters Darlene Labdar, Peggy (Mike) Nelson, Paula (Randy) Asbury; siblings Evon Eubanks and Betty Durrance; grandchildren Mike (Casondra) O’Neal, Kyle (Taran) Nelson, Scott Nelson, Stephanie Asbury Miller; and great-grandchildren Brooke, Becket, Camden, Elisha, EJ and Gracie.
Herman retired from GTE after 30 years of service and 28 years as an ordained minister with the Church of God. He served as the Senior Pastor at Harvest Temple Church of God in Inverness for 7 years. He was a faithful member and elder of the Plant City Church of God. He loved golfing, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
As an honor to Herman, guests are asked to wear blue.
Masks will be required.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Plant City Church of God, 2103 Mud Lake Road, Plant City, FL 33566. Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Jeff Robinson and Reverend Mike Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City.
Pallbearers are: Mike Cross, Greg Davis, Matt Kelly, Donnie Sodders, Greg Sumner, and Gary Wilcox.
Honorary Pallbearers are M.D. Fletcher, Frank Gales, Butch Hall, Chuck Hall, Buck McLin, Ray Moody, and Glendon Porter.
Celebration of Life may be viewed and online condolences may be left for the family at www.haught.care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plant City Church of God Student Ministries Center Building Fund.
