Herbert Padgett Obituary

Herbert Lee Padgett, known affectionately to friends and family as Herb, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 59. Born on July 21, 1965, in Plant City, Florida, Herb was a man whose presence was characterized by his loving nature, kindness, and friendly demeanor.

Herb was a lifelong resident of Florida and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City, where he found great comfort and community. He was a man of the outdoors, with a passion for fishing and hunting that was only rivaled by his love for collecting baseball cards. His enthusiasm for sports extended to being an ardent supporter of Florida State University and the Miami Dolphins, celebrating their victories with the same warmth and excitement he brought to every aspect of his life. He was also an Eagle Scout.

Predeceased by his mother, MaryJane Padgett, Herb's memory is cherished by his father, Billy Padgett, and stepmother, Sarah. His legacy of love and laughter lives on through his beloved wife, Heather Padgett, and his proud sons, Benji (and wife Alexa) Padgett, and Jackson Padgett. His sister, Polly (and husband Todd) Vance, will miss his humored spirit and unwavering support.

Herb's life was a testament to the power of kindness. He approached every person he met with a genuine smile and an open heart, creating lasting friendships and touching lives in ways that will be remembered for years to come. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but the imprint he left on the world is indelible.

As we bid farewell to Herb, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, companionship, and love. His story does not end with his passing but continues in the memories we hold dear and the lives he has influenced. Herb Padgett's spirit will forever be a beacon of light for his family, his friends, and his community.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 16, 2024 with a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Plant City, 3309 James L. Redman Pkwy, Plant City, Florida 33566. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
