Gordon Dale Gulledge, age 72, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on September 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and quiet strength that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on April 4, 1954, in Herrin, Illinois, Gordon carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness throughout his life. His presence brought steadiness and warmth to his family, and his life reflected the simple dignity of a man who loved deeply and lived with purpose.
Gordon was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jane Gulledge, and their 49 years of marriage stood as a testament to enduring love, shared memories, and unwavering companionship. He was a loving father to Jason Gulledge, Aaron Gulledge, and Ashley Gulledge Jordan, and he took great pride in each of them. His love extended naturally to his grandchildren, Dallas Gulledge, Clarissa Cameron, Kayson Jordan, Raiden Jordan, and Tyler Gulledge, each of whom brought him joy and added richness to his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Gulledge, and he is survived by his mother, Frances Grimes, who remained an important part of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Ann Jenkel and Melanie Baker, who shared in the family bonds that meant so much to him.
Faith was an important part of Gordon's journey, and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Plant City. His church family was a meaningful part of his life, and his faith guided the way he treated others and the way he faced life's challenges.
Gordon also had a creative side that brought joy to those around him. He enjoyed playing the Native American flute, his talent and dedication were so meaningful to him that he even created a CD of his flute playing, leaving behind a special expression of himself that will continue to be remembered with affection.
Gordon leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly and a community that was made better by his presence. Though his earthly journey has ended, the example he set and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
