Gerard Joseph Diguer

Gerard Joseph Diguer, known affectionately as Gerry to his friends and family, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 86. Born on August 15, 1937, in Ottawa, Canada, Gerry was a man whose life was marked by a deep passion for sports, love for the outdoors, and a wisdom that touched all who knew him.

Gerry is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Yvette Diguer, and their loving sons, Richard (Sharmane) Diguer, Giles (Natalia) Diguer, and Michel Diguer. He was a cherished grandfather to Rachel and Nicole Diguer. Gerry was predeceased by his father Pete Diguer, mother Anna Diguer, and brother Paul (Claudette) Diguer. He is also remembered by his brother-in-laws Roger (Anne) Lefebvre and the late Albert (Diane) Lefebvre.

A huge sports enthusiast, Gerry's loyalty to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Lightning Hockey team was unwavering. His love for boating, fishing, and playing golf were only matched by the joy he found in being a snowbird, migrating between Plant City and Canada with his beloved Yvette.

Gerry's life was a testament to the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." He indeed left a trail of love, passion, and wisdom that will guide his family and friends for generations to come. Gerry's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
