Gerald "Putt" Dee Crouse, known affectionately as Putt to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 88. Born on February 7, 1936, in Sullivan, Indiana, Putt was the beloved son of the late Walter Crouse and Gladys Street.
Putt's life was a testament to his faith and his hands-on approach to everything he did. He was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church and a proud member of the local welder's pipeline industry 798 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His commitment to craftsmanship was also evident in his active participation in the Masonic Lodge in Bryan, Ohio.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Crouse, his daughters Terri Lynn (Rick) Mitchell and Cheryl Ann (Matt) Audas, his sister Marilynn Gerkin, his brother Richard Crouse, four cherished grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren who will miss his gentle guidance and handy skills.
Putt's love for yardwork reflected his belief in the value of nurturing growth and tending to the world around him. He was a man whose faith-filled and gentle nature touched all who knew him.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Putt's legacy is one of quiet success, a life rich in love, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
