Genevieve S. Hess Obituary

Genevieve Sechen Hess, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 87. Born on February 15, 1938, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Donald Best and Irene Jawor (Joseph) Sechen, Genevieve's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, a passion for life, and a legacy of warmth that touched everyone she knew.

Genevieve's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She was a dedicated mother, not only to her own children but to all those she encountered. Her love story with her late husband, Perry E. Hess, was one of true partnership and mutual respect, and together they raised a family that became her pride and joy. Though predeceased by her husband and her cherished son, David Hess, Genevieve's love and lessons continue to live on through her family.

Survived by her loving partner of nine years, Victor Peyron, Genevieve's legacy is carried forward by her children: Donna (Michael) McKeon, Denise Reed, Daniel (Kathy) Hess, Dean (Melissa) Hess, and Deanna (Steven) Traxler. Her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, instilling values of compassion and kindness that will endure for generations.

Throughout her career, Genevieve's meticulous nature and warm demeanor made her an invaluable asset in her clerical and secretarial roles. Her colleagues often became lifelong friends, drawn to her genuine care and thoughtful guidance. Genevieve's involvement in various associations further showcased her commitment to community and her desire to make a positive impact on those around her.

Genevieve's interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She had an enduring love for golf, finding serenity on the greens and forming lasting friendships with her fellow golfers. Bowling nights were filled with laughter and camaraderie, while her grace and rhythm on the dance floor were a sight to behold. Genevieve lived her life with a zest that was contagious, inspiring others to find joy in every day.

To know Genevieve was to know love in its purest form. She was the embodiment of kindness, always putting others before herself and offering a listening ear or a helping hand without hesitation. Her loving nature was the cornerstone of her existence, and it is this essence of Genevieve that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we bid farewell to Genevieve Sechen Hess, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that generously loved. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire kindness and love in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Genevieve's journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of her love story will resonate eternally.

A private graveside service will be held in Michigan at a future date which is yet to be determined.
