Earl "Gene" Taylor, a spirited and funny soul, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 72 in Lake Wales, Florida. Gene, a native of Plant City, born on March 28, 1952 to the late Glen & Alice Taylor. He will be fondly remembered for his infectious laughter, love for fishing, and the joy he brought to the lives of those around him.
Gene's early years in Plant City laid the foundation for a life filled with adventure and close-knit family ties. His passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, with countless sun-drenched days spent by the water, rod in hand, and a smile on his face. Gene's love for fishing was only matched by the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his adoring children, Randy Taylor and his wife Helen, Cherish Taylor, Jessica Taylor, and Tanya Boyette. Gene's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Marcus Boyett, Hailey Gilbert, Carly Taylor, and Ellie Hyer. He also leaves behind his siblings, Patsy Smith, Mike Taylor, and Elizabeth Bryant, and Barbara Bryant who will miss him dearly. Gene was predeceased by his siblings, Glenda Smith and Mark Taylor, and his grandchild, Whitney Boyett.
Throughout his life, Gene was the heart of every gathering, known for his quick wit and ability to make anyone laugh. He was the kind of person who could lighten the mood with a well-timed joke or an amusing story, ensuring that the room was always filled with warmth and laughter.
Gene's presence was a gift to his family, who revered him for his unwavering support and unconditional love. His children will remember him as a guiding force, full of wisdom and encouragement. His grandchildren will recall his playful spirit and the way he could turn an ordinary day into an unforgettable memory.
To his siblings, Gene was more than just a brother; he was a confidant and a source of constant joy. They shared a bond that was strengthened by shared memories and mutual respect. Gene's absence will leave a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories they tell and the moments they cherish.
As we bid farewell to Gene, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His impact on the world was as profound as the ocean he adored, and his memory will continue to ripple through the lives of those he touched. Gene's journey on earth has come to a restful end, but the fish tales and hearty laughter he left behind will echo for generations to come.
Gene's family would like to thank all those who were a part of his life.
In the stillness of the water and the quiet moments of daybreak, we will feel Gene's presence and remember a man who taught us the true meaning of joy and family. Farewell, Gene, until we meet again on that eternal shore.
