The families of Kathleen née Norcross (May 21, 1944 - December 12, 2021) and Gary L. Blocker (September 14, 1934 - December 4, 2024) are profoundly saddened to announce their requested joint graveside service.
Kathleen and Gary's workplace romance led to marriage in 1985 and a move south to enjoy the Florida sunshine shortly thereafter.
Gary brightened the days of many with his gregarious nature. When he was not succumbing to his soft spot for rescue kittens, leading to a household of multiple permanent cat residents, he was tending to his "plant hospital," for the numerous potted flowers and plants that he determined needed extra care.
Kathleen utilized her LPN degree as first, an accomplished businesswoman, and later as a caring administrator at Freedom Point in the Villages, where Kathleen brightened the days of residents and staff with her smile and laughter. Kathleen was a true blessing with a beautiful soul that lit up any room she entered, and shared Gary's passion for nurturing others, both human and animal. Together, they enjoyed RV travel and camping with their pets and many friends.
Kathleen and Gary will be celebrated and remembered at noon on February 22, 2025, at the New Freedom Cemetery, Atco, New Jersey. If you choose, donations may be sent to: Guiding Eyes for The Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598, or on-line at: Donate.Guidingeyes.org, to carry on their convictions in helping others.
