Gary Clark Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Tampa, FL, at the age of 69. Born on August 9, 1955, in Derby, CT, Gary's life was a testament to his friendly nature, handy skills, and adventurous spirit.
Gary was the beloved husband of Debra Clark, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a devoted father to his children, Gary Clark Jr., April Clark, and the late Michael Clark. His role as a grandfather to Cici Santiago, Franki Santiago Jr., Xavier Santiago, and Michael Clark Jr. brought him immeasurable happiness. He was the caring brother of William Clark, Stephen Clark, and the late Linda Wood and Bobby Clark. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Evelyn Clark, whose values and love shaped him into the man he became.
Gary graduated from Emmett O'Brien Technical High School and soon became a well-known figure in the automotive industry. Before founding his successful business, Ultimate Mobile Fleet Services LLC, in 2006, he honed his expertise working for Shell. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
His interests were as robust as his personality. Gary was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, a hobby that complemented his love for restoring classic vehicles, including a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS and a Peterbilt truck. His adventurous spirit was also evident in his love for the beach and snorkeling, activities that allowed him to explore the beauty of the natural world.
In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Gary's memory will forever be a part of those who knew him. His friendly demeanor, adventurous outings, and the sound of his laughter will be deeply missed by all.
As we bid farewell to Gary Clark Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as his presence enriched the lives of those around him. Though he has left this world, the stories of his kindness, his laughter, and his zest for life will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
