Fred Johns Obituary

Fred Johns, age 97 of Dover, FL passed away on April 24, 2019.

A native of St. George, Georgia, he was the son of the late Riley and Rosa Johns

Survivors include children; Joan (Kevin) MacKenzie, Jan Johns, Fred (Tracie) Johns, seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Johns and his siblings Ethel Nix, Ruth Thomas, Edna Hodges, Darthey Benton and Joe Johns.

Fred was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church. Fred worked as an Inspector for the US Customs. He was a WWII veteran serving in Italy with the Army Air Corps. He was a humble and generous man who loved God and others above himself. He made sure everyone always felt welcome in his home. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. He liked working his land and working on his tractor. And he liked having family and friends over to help bring in the harvest, which turned into a party. He also enjoyed fishing, which Fred Paul still loves to this day. He was a Generous and Godly man who spent many years serving God and others. He was truly one of a kind.

The family will receive friends Monday April 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Salem Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM
