Fannie "Raye" Radiance Atkinson, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 86. Born on May 25, 1938 at home in Boyette, FL. Raye's life was a testament to the power of compassion and dedication to family and community.
Raye was predeceased by her parents, Edgar Allen and Willie Bell Cannon, her sister, Barbara Spears, and her brother, Buddy Allen. Her legacy continues through her beloved husband of 51 years, Ken Atkinson; her devoted daughter, Brenda Holt; her caring siblings, Danny Allen, Eugene Allen, Betty Boyton, Geraldine Flowers, and Bill Allen; her adoring three grandchildren; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her cherished great-great-grandchild.
A lifelong member of Faith Lighthouse Assembly of God, Raye's generosity knew no bounds as she donated the land upon which the church now stands. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her spiritual community were sources of inspiration to all who knew her.
Raye's love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for yard work and gardening. She took immense pride in tending to her home, creating a warm and welcoming space for family and friends. Her nurturing spirit extended to all aspects of her life, and she cherished the relationships she built over the years.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Raye will remember her as the epitome of loving and kind. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved. Her gentle presence and warm smile will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her generous spirit.
As we bid farewell to Raye, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that generously loved. Her radiant spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all as we honor her remarkable journey through life.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary Fellowship, 1110 North Gordon Street, Plant City, FL 33563.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at Calvary Fellowship in Plant City, FL.
