Evelyn Blevins Carlisle, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, in Plant City, Florida. Born on June 19, 1952, in Oneida, Tennessee, Evelyn's gentle spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her throughout her 72 years of life.
Evelyn was the cherished daughter of the late Richard and Geneva Blevins. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Paul "PD" Carlisle, who preceded her in death, marking a union of 50 years filled with mutual love and respect. She was also predeceased by her son, Roy Carlisle, and her grandson, Koby Carlisle. Her sister, Virgie Leathers (JC), also passed before her.
She is survived by her loving son, Justin (Amy) Carlisle, and her adored granddaughters, Taylor and Payton Carlisle. Evelyn's memory will be forever held in the hearts of her brothers, Carl (Leila) Blevins, Charles (Darlene) Blevins, Monroe (Mary) Blevins, and her sister, Maxine (Jerry) Marsee. Each family member reflects a piece of her enduring legacy.
Evelyn dedicated 38 years of service as a secretary for Hillsborough County Public Schools, where she was not only an employee but a friend, mentor, and confidant to many. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her dedication to her family and her passion for life.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Evelyn found joy in boating and fishing, often accompanied by her husband. Together, they shared the thrill of riding motorcycles, creating a tapestry of memories along the open road. Evelyn's zest for life was evident in her hobbies, which included shopping, going on walks, and participating in 5K runs. She was also a graceful presence on the dance floor, taking line dance lessons with a spirit that was both infectious and inspiring.
Evelyn's culinary skills were unparalleled, and she was known for her ability to turn any meal into a celebration of togetherness. Her love for her sons and grandchildren was the essence of her being, and she poured her heart into every dish she created for them.
Those who knew Evelyn would describe her as loving, kind, and gentle. These words, while accurate, only scratch the surface of the profound impact she had on her community and loved ones. Her compassion was a guiding light, and her presence a source of comfort and joy.
As we bid farewell to Evelyn Blevins Carlisle, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.
