EvaNett "EvaNell" Griffin, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 79. Born on June 3, 1945, in Dover, Florida, EvaNell was a lifelong resident of the area, known for her warm smile and generous spirit.

EvaNell was the cherished daughter of the late William Fleet Barber and Stella Cumbie. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Ward, Marilyn Prevatt, Charles Barber, Floyd Barber, Netta Barber, and Fleda Barber. Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of those she leaves behind, including her devoted husband of 60 years, John Russell Griffin, her loving children, Teresa Lynn Griffin and Brian Russell Griffin (Kathy), and her adoring sisters, Ula Mae Avant and Katie Lou Fleming, also survived by Brian's children, Caleb Griffin and Kadie (Frank) Deestenoz.

EvaNell's life was one of unwavering faith and service. A dedicated member of the 1st Baptist Church of Dover, she exemplified what it means to be a prayer warrior, living her love for the Lord through every action and interaction. Her commitment to her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Her roots ran deep in the soil of her childhood home on Gallagher Road, where she was born and raised. It was here that EvaNell developed her passion for strawberry farming, a vocation that brought her much joy and recognition. Her expertise in growing strawberries and her culinary skills earned her interviews with several local and national news outlets, sharing her knowledge and love for the craft with a wider audience.

EvaNell's hands were rarely still, as she found great pleasure in tending to her vibrant flower gardens and creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Her home was a welcoming haven where all were greeted with the aroma of home-cooked delights and the sight of blossoming beauty.

Those who had the privilege of knowing EvaNell will remember her as the epitome of love, kindness, and friendliness. She had the rare ability to make every person she met feel like the most important person in the world. Her legacy is one of compassion and caring, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

EvaNell's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of community. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the cherished memories shared by her family and the countless lives she impacted.
