Dorothy Howell Obituary

Dorothy Marie Howell, a woman of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 89 in Lakeland, Florida. Born on March 26, 1936, in Tampa, Florida, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of the late Fate Peacock and Ola Belle Peacock. Her life was a testament to the power of unwavering love and the strength of family bonds.

Dorothy's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her family and her role as a homemaker. She was the heart of her home, creating a warm and welcoming space for all who entered. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in the simple acts of caring for her loved ones. Dorothy's legacy is carried on by her children, Tracy Howell (married to Milly) and Kent Howell (married to Carolyn), who learned the essence of compassion and kindness from their mother's example.

The Howell family tree flourished under Dorothy's nurturing care, with six grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren who were the apples of her eye. Each child was a new spark of joy in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love knew no bounds, and it will continue to echo through the generations.

Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Howell Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and a love that stood as a pillar of strength for their family. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eric Howell, whose memory she held close to her heart. The loss of her grandson, Wesley Howell, was a sorrow she bore with grace and fortitude. Dorothy's brothers, Roland, Henry, Theo, and Freddie Peacock, have also passed on before her, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was the epitome of a loving and kind soul. Her gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She had a way of making each person feel special and valued, a gift that will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dorothy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and family. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the lives of those she touched. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her love will continue to guide us. Dorothy Marie Howell's story does not end here, for she has left an indelible mark on the world that will never fade.
