Dondru Hart

Dondru Wilkes Hart, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, in Plant City, Florida. Born on July 22, 1939, in Meigs, Georgia, to the late Monroe Roy Wilkes and Johnnie Lee Bass, she is also predeceased by her stepfather, Coy Hart. Dondru spent her 84 years filling the lives of those around her with love, kindness, and selfless devotion.

Dondru was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Two Bits" Hart, her son, Edward Wayne Hart, her daughter Kathi Dempsey, and her granddaughter, Brooke Susan McDonald. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara McDonald and her husband, Mitch, Pam Pippin and her husband, Ron, her brother, Buddy Hart, and her sister, Diane Marple. She was a cherished grandmother to Joe Langford, Michael (Julie) Pippin, Billy Pippin, Andrea Croft, Joshua Pippin, Josh Moore, and Danielle Moore. Dondru was also a beloved great-grandmother to Cayden Pippin, Corry Pippin, Hailey Pippin, Brooks McDonald, Grayson Pippin, Cayden Pippin, Jaylen Moore, Myla Moore, and Jonah Moore.

A woman of many interests and talents, Dondru was a fan of Lifetime Movie Network and always enjoyed a good conversation over the phone. She held a deep affection for the music of Elvis Presley and was known to light up any room with her love for "The King." In her quiet moments, Dondru could often be found sewing, a craft she mastered over the years. She also enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, an adventurous spirit shining through her otherwise gentle demeanor. Above all else, Dondru was a devoted mother. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart and soul into making their lives full of love and happiness.

Dondru was a woman of great strength and resilience, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she was always there to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. Her kind spirit made her a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her, her warmth and compassion touching countless hearts. As poet Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Dondru made everyone around her feel loved.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. Dondru Wilkes Hart, a woman of grace and dignity, will be dearly missed,

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM at West Oaklawn Cemetery 1900 North Wheeler St Plant City FL 33563.
