Debra Ann Thompson, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, at the age of 63 in Dover, Florida. Born on May 19, 1960, in Camp Lejeune, Debra's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and her compassionate nature was evident from a young age.
Debra's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of familial bonds. She was a devoted wife to her surviving husband, Timothy Thompson, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Taira Coutts and Rodney Coutts, who brought great joy and pride to her life. Debra was a beloved sister to Marlene Shover, David Gaschler, Robert "Bobby" Gaschler, and Andrew Gaschler. She held fond memories of her late parents, William J. Gaschler and Bertha K. Haili Gaschler, and her sister Alberta Perkins, who predeceased her.
Her grandchildren, Justin Franklin, Kailynn Knight, and Milly Coutts, were the apples of her eye. Debra's love for them was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with these precious young lives.
Debra's professional life was marked by her time as a homemaker and her dedicated work at Dad's Cookie, where she was known for her diligence and warm-hearted nature. Her community knew her as an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to the church's mission with unwavering faith and commitment.
Friends and family remember Debra as the epitome of kindness, wisdom, and love. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued and heard, and her advice was often sought for its insight and sincerity. Debra's presence was a comforting one, and her ability to listen and understand made her a pillar in the lives of many.
A quote that Debra lived by and often shared with others comes from Mother Teresa: "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." This simple yet profound statement captures the essence of Debra's approach to life and the legacy she leaves behind.
Debra Ann Thompson's life was a beautiful journey that touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the love she spread during her time on earth will continue to resonate within her family and community for generations to come.
