David Noel Chappell, a man whose zest for life was as vast as the treasures he sought, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Plant City, Florida. Born to Wilbert and Arminta Chappell on December 22, 1961, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, David's adventurous spirit was evident from a young age. His journey through life was marked by an insatiable curiosity and a deep appreciation for the world's hidden wonders.
David's legacy is carried on by his loving children, Season Deeson and Tara Poston, his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Chappell and Skyler Deeson, and his adored great-grandchild, Henry Chappell. He was a beloved brother to Carlene MaGill, Bill Chappell, Joyce Guffey, Donald Chappell, Marsha Boles, and Jeffrey Chappell. Preceded in death by his wife, Melinda Chappell, and his parents, Wilbert and Arminta, David's memory will continue to be a beacon of joy and exploration for his family.
An amateur archaeologist at heart, David's home was a treasure trove of dinosaur bones, fossils, and arrowheads, each piece a testament to his countless expeditions. His love for collecting was only matched by his passion for fishing, where he found tranquility and reflection in the quiet waters. David's adventures were not just hobbies; they were the chapters of a life lived fully, with each discovery adding to the rich tapestry of his story.
Friends and family will remember David as the embodiment of adventure. His eyes would sparkle with excitement at the mention of a new place to explore or a rare artifact to uncover. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, and he inspired those around him to appreciate the beauty and history that surrounds us all.
David's journey through life was like a map dotted with significant finds, each one marking a moment of triumph and wonder. His approach to life's challenges was with the same determination and optimism that he brought to his explorations. He taught us that every day is an opportunity to discover something new, to appreciate the past, and to look forward to the future with hope.
As we say farewell to David Noel Chappell, we celebrate a life that was as rich and varied as the collections he adored. He was a man who lived with the conviction that life is the greatest adventure of all. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit of discovery will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and that the stories of his adventures will continue to inspire generations to come. David's journey may have come to a rest, but the legacy of his passion for life will continue to unearth joy for many years.
