Darlene Price Smith passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in Lakeland, FL. Born on December 21, 1951, in Plant City, FL, Darlene's life was a tapestry of warm relationships and artistic passions.
Darlene's journey began as the daughter of the late Roscoe Z. Price and Helene Kinman. She was a devoted partner in life, first to her late husband Lamar Joiner, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage, and then as a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was her pride and joy, including her daughter Regina (Glen) George, her son Kevin (Beulah) Joiner, her sister Barbara Joiner, her sister-in-law Lucy Williamson, and her stepmother Lavern Price. She was predeceased by her siblings Joyce Brown and R.Z. Price. Darlene's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Connor George, Bethney George, and Nichole Joiner.
As a homemaker, Darlene's nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her home was a canvas for her creativity, where she found joy in painting miniatures and ceramics. Her love for yard work and gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that surrounded her home. Though she was a Baptist by faith, she found her church in the hearts of those she loved and the beauty of nature she so tenderly cared for.
Darlene was known for her loving nature, her creative soul, and her friendly demeanor. In the words of Mother Teresa, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Darlene's memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
