Clyde Jesse Obituary

Clyde Armond Jesse, affectionately known as Jess, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 89. Born on December 20, 1934, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Elmer H. Jesse and Florence Steinke, Jess grew up with a strong sense of duty and a warm heart that would define his life's journey. Jess's early years in Wisconsin laid the foundation for a life of service and commitment. After completing his education, he answered the call of duty and joined the United States Marine Corps, where he dedicated 26 years to his country, retiring as a Major. His military career was marked by honor, discipline, and the respect of his peers and subordinates alike. Following his retirement from the U.S.M.C., Jess settled in Plant City, Florida, where he became an active and beloved member of the St. Clement Catholic Church community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with guidance and comfort through the years. Jess was a man of many interests and passions. He was an avid golfer, finding joy on the greens under the Florida sun. Fishing was another pastime he cherished, often seen with a rod in hand, patiently waiting for the catch of the day. But above all, Jess was a family man. He took immense pride in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His sense of humor was legendary; Jess was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood and bring a smile to those around him. He had a knack for making people laugh and feel at ease, a trait that endeared him to many. Jess was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret M. "Honey" Jesse, his brother Elmer G. Jesse, and his parents. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his children, Mark Jesse, Kim (Richard) Rundhaug, Matthew (Sandra) Jesse, and Tamara (Richard) Lundgren. His grandchildren, Christian, Jacob, Caradin, Katrina, Alexis, Leah, Weyland, Lennon, Nicholas, Indie, Esmeralda, and Karston, along with his great-grandchildren, Jessica, Chris, Armond, Tami, Johnathan, Megan, Brandon, Katie, Nathan, and Conrad, will forever cherish the memories and lessons he imparted. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Jess lived by these words, touching the lives of those around him with his generosity, spirit, and love. Jess's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, faith, and service. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. As we bid farewell to Clyde Armond Jesse, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends. Jess's journey on earth has concluded, but the impact of his life's work and the joy he brought to others will remain as an indelible mark on the world.
