Christopher Todd Holland, known affectionately as Chris to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, in Plant City, Florida. Born on May 7, 1967, in Kettering, Ohio, Chris's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of generosity and love. He was a beacon of selflessness to all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. Chris is survived by his devoted parents, Victor Holland and Bernice Turner, his loving wife, Nancy Heffernan, and his cherished children, Ryan, Shannon, and Kelly Van Derbol. His sister, Tonya Yeakley, along with numerous friends and relatives, will also hold dear the memory of his kind and loving nature. Chris was an Army Veteran who served his country honorably for many years. Following his career in the Army, Chris dedicated himself to his work as a truck driver with H.R. Ewell Trucking Company, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. His colleagues respected him not only for his professional skills but also for his ability to bring warmth and camaraderie to every interaction. Chris's faith was an important aspect of his life. He was a regular attendee of the First Baptist Church of Dover, where he found a community of like-minded individuals who shared his values and his commitment to living a life of service and gratitude. An avid golfer, Chris found joy and relaxation on the green. His love for the game was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and friends. He was often found sharing laughs, celebrating victories, and offering words of encouragement to his fellow golfers, embodying the spirit of the game he so cherished. Those who knew Chris would describe him as generous, selfless, and loving—a man who gave of himself freely and without expectation of return. His actions were a testament to the well-known quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Chris truly succeeded in making the lives of those around him brighter and more comfortable. As we bid farewell to Christopher Todd Holland, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and kindness. His memory will be treasured as a reminder of the profound impact one individual can have on the world through simple acts of love and generosity. Chris's spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
