Charlie Gross, a man of intelligence, adventure, and boundless interest, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Born on January 15, 1950, in Leslie County, Kentucky, Charlie's journey through life was marked by his passion for technology and the great outdoors.
Charlie's early years in Kentucky laid the foundation for a life full of curiosity and learning. His love for computers and technology blossomed into a successful career as an IT computer technician, where he was known for his problem-solving skills and his ability to adapt to the ever-changing tech landscape. His colleagues respected him for his knowledge and his willingness to help others understand the complexities of the digital world.
Beyond his professional life, Charlie was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water. His adventurous spirit often led him to explore new fishing spots, and he cherished these experiences as opportunities to connect with nature and reflect on life's simple pleasures.
He was a beloved husband to Sheila Gross, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they raised a family that includes their children, Aaron Gross, Lydia Gross, Timothy (Jasmine) Ridpath and Michelle (Gary) Pruitt. Charlie's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Alexis Pruitt, Camren Pruitt, and Gaige Ridpath who will remember him for his wisdom and the gentle guidance he provided.
Charlie was the cherished brother of Edna Rush, Phyllis Simpson, and Kenneth Gross. He was preceded in death by his siblings Kathy Asher, Junior Gross, Richard Gross, Ellen Caldwell, and Lois Maxey. His family remembers him as a beacon of light, whose intelligence and adventurous spirit brought joy to their lives.
As we bid farewell to Charlie Gross, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with curiosity, joy, and the pursuit of knowledge. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Charlie's memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his stories will continue to inspire for generations to come.
