Charles Carpenter Obituary

Charles Frederick Carpenter Sr., affectionately known as Charlie, left a legacy of love and kindness when he passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Lakeland, FL. Born on December 26, 1930, in Chicago, IL, Charlie's life was a testament to the power of family and the enduring strength of a gentle spirit.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Margaret Carpenter. Together, they built a life rich with laughter and mutual respect, setting a profound example of enduring love for their family. Predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Emma Carpenter, and siblings Emma Walker, Evelyn Jones, Helen Wentzel, Alice Lietz, and Scotty Weber, Charlie was the cornerstone of his family, offering unwavering support and guidance.

Charlie's legacy is carried on by his cherished daughter, Lillian Moran, and her husband, Kip, as well as his sons, Leroy, Charles (with his wife Lisa), and Wayne Carpenter. His son Jimmy Carpenter, who was lost at a very young age, holds a special place in the tapestry of memories that Charlie leaves behind.

A proud grandfather, Charlie doted on his grandchildren, Christopher Church, Charles Carpenter (with his wife Kristin), Joshua Carpenter (with his wife Rayanna), Isabella, Jalynn, and Angel Carpenter. His great-grandchildren, Charles, Ashton, Levi, and Ava Carpenter, brought him immeasurable joy, and he relished every moment spent with them.

Charlie was a man of profound intellect and kindness, qualities that were evident to all who knew him. He was the epitome of a family man, cherishing every moment with his children and grandchildren, for whom he would have moved mountains. His love for his family was his guiding principle, and it shone through in every aspect of his life.

Friends and family will remember Charlie as the embodiment of love and kindness, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand. His intelligence was matched only by his compassion, and he was respected by all for his wisdom and grace. Charlie's life was a beautiful illustration of what it means to live a life full of love and dedication to one's family.

As we mourn the loss of Charles Frederick Carpenter Sr., we also celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life that will continue to inspire and guide us. Charlie's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. His was a life well-lived, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
