Carol Daubrey Fritz, 79, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2026, in the same community where she was born on June 3, 1946. She was a loving and kind woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful.
Carol was the daughter of the late Ike Sawyer and Hettie Richardson. She grew up in Plant City and graduated from Plant City High School with the Class of 1963. Those who knew her remember a woman of steady grace, warm spirit, and quiet strength. She carried herself with kindness and treated others with genuine care, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where her presence reflected her deep faith and commitment to her church family. Carol found joy in crafting and took great pride in her yard, where she enjoyed spending time and caring for the things she loved. She especially cherished her grandchildren and took great delight in the moments she shared with them. Her life was also enriched by the many places she traveled with her husband during his service, creating memories that she treasured throughout her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton E. Fritz; her siblings, Janet Dunn and Terry Sawyer; and her grandson, Lane Barror. Though her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in the many years of love, laughter, and devotion she shared with them.
She is survived by her daughters, Shelly Flores and Cindy Barror and her husband Lon; her brothers, Richard Sawyer and Jeffrey Sawyer; her grandchildren, Benjamin and Chelsea Garcia, Ashlyn and Bryson Surrency, and Trace Barror and Rachel Barror, and her four great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Tate, Charolette, Sophie and Brodie. Each of them carries forward a part of her legacy through the love she gave and the example she set.
Carol's life was one of devotion, resilience, and tenderness. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her kind nature, and the way she made others feel welcomed and valued. Her family and friends will forever hold close the memories of her gentle spirit and the many ways she enriched their lives.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church.
The family is requesting everyone please wear red as it was Carol's favorite color, and please have all flowers delivered to the Church.
