Born on April 21, 1937, in Cottonwood, Alabama, to the late Harvey Lee Lord and Margaret Womack, Wayne's life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, gentleness, and love.
Wayne dedicated many years of his life to work at TECO, where his diligent nature and warm personality made him a cherished member of the team. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his commitment to his profession was admired by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Above all, Wayne was a family man. His love for his family was evident in his devotion to his wife, Alice Faye, his children, Mary Ella and her husband Earl, and Carlos Wayne Lord Jr. and his wife Denise. He was a cherished brother to Jeane Don, Gynelle Gaither, and Sondra Varnum. Wayne's legacy also lives on through his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember their papa's gentle nature and loving spirit.
An avid sports fan, Wayne's loyalty to the Seminoles was unwavering and he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on. In addition to sports, Wayne had a deep love for hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. His garden was a testament to his patience and dedication, while his woodworking creations were admired by all for their intricate detail and craftsmanship.
His devotion to Jesus Christ was an integral part of his life and provided him with comfort and guidance throughout his journey. He was a source of spiritual strength for many in his family and community, and his unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who knew him.
