Carl Kenneth McDonald, a man of unwavering faith and boundless love, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Okeechobee, Florida, just two days shy of his 84th birthday. Born on June 27, 1941, in Lakeland, Florida, Carl's life was a testament to the joy and laughter he brought to all who knew him.
Carl's journey began as the beloved son of Carl and Kathryn McDonald. He grew up alongside his siblings Gary (Beverly), Royce, Darlene, Nancy, forming bonds and creating memories that would last a lifetime. In 1988, Carl married the love of his life, Marie, and together they blended their families into one. Carl was a devoted husband and a pillar of strength and support for Marie. He was a loving father to Carole, Keith (Cecilia), and Stephen McDonald (Jeanette), and a cherished stepfather to Tina Kinchen (David) and Brian Vick (Laurie). His role as a father was one he held with great pride and commitment, always leading by example and offering wisdom with a gentle touch.
Carl's legacy continued to grow with the addition of his grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer), Matthew, Carl, Cassandra, Aaron, Kenny, Haylee (Dillon), Alexander, Morgan (Sebastian), Duncan (Nancy), Kaysie (Blake), Kodi, Taylor (Tristen), and Makenzie (Michael). Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jayse, Mason, Karsynn, and one on the way, were a source of immense joy and pride, and he delighted in watching their young lives unfold.
A man of deep faith, Carl was an active member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Sopchoppy, Florida, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and director. His love for God was evident in his every action, and he strived to live a life that reflected his beliefs.
Carl's impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle. He was a loving husband, a guiding father, a doting grandfather, and a loyal friend. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering positivity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Carl Kenneth McDonald, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with him. His memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons learned, and the love he gave so freely. Carl's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come.
