Billie Farris Jones, a cherished family man and respected community leader, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on September 28, 1937, in Kennesaw, Georgia, Billie's life was a testament to his loving and kind nature, which touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Billie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Murel Lee Jones, his parents, Robert E. Jones and Annie Mae McCloud, his children, Greg Long, Kevin Jones, and Robbie Jones, and his siblings, Raymond Jones, James Jones, Joyce Jones, Margaret Jones, Horace Jones, and Aaron Jones. His legacy continues through his surviving children, Patty (Don) Stancil, Billy (Jeanette) Long, Ray (Judy) Long, Kenny Long, and Virginia (David) Rodriguez, his siblings, Helen Maxwell and Peggy Jones Ryals, as well as his twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory.

Billie served his country with honor in the Air Force before becoming the owner and operator of B.M.J. Trucking, where his hardworking and determined spirit led the company to great success. His leadership skills were not only evident in his professional life but also shone through in his personal life, where he was a pillar of strength for his family and friends.

A devout Christian, Billie was an active member of the Plant City Church of God and later attended the 1st Assembly of God in Tampa. He loved his Sunday school class and was known as a Bible scholar, often sharing his knowledge and faith with others. His deep commitment to his faith and community was an inspiration to many.

Billie's interests were a reflection of his character. He cherished his family above all, dedicating his life to providing for and nurturing them. His love for Jimmy Swaggart's ministry was a source of spiritual comfort and joy. Billie's hardworking nature was matched only by his determination to succeed in every endeavor he undertook, whether it was in his business, his church, or his personal pursuits.

Those who knew Billie would describe him as a loving and kind man, a leader who led by example and always put others before himself. His presence was a source of stability and comfort, and his guidance was sought by many. Billie's influence extended beyond his immediate circle, as he touched the lives of countless individuals through his generosity and unwavering support.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Plant City Church of God, 2103 Mud Lake Rd Plant City, FL 33566.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
