Barbara Jean Lewis, a beacon of love and devotion, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Plant City, at the age of 66. Born on May 7, 1958, in LaPorte, Indiana, Barbara's life was a testament to the enduring strength of familial bonds and the joy that comes from cherishing every moment with loved ones.
Barbara's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 50 years, William Lewis. Together, they navigated the waters of life with grace and unwavering commitment to each other. Their love was further multiplied and reflected in their children, Hanky (Linda) Lewis, Pooh (Julio) Bastidas, Doddle (Shannon) Sawyer, and Man Man Hartline. Although their daughter, Faith Lewis, preceded Barbara in passing, the love and memories they shared continue to resonate within the hearts of the family.
Barbara was the cherished daughter of Betty Spears and the late Gene McClellan. She grew up alongside her siblings, David McClellan, Billy, Debbie Peters, Melody Hassick, and Tammy Spears. Each family gathering was brightened by Barbara's presence, her laughter, and the genuine interest she showed in the lives of her family members.
As a matriarch, Barbara was the proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will live on through the stories they will tell and the values she instilled in them. Each child held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and milestones.
Barbara's life was characterized by her profound love for her family. She created a warm and welcoming home where laughter was abundant, and everyone felt valued. She had an innate ability to make the simplest moments special and the family traditions she established will be cherished and continued by those she leaves behind.
Her interests extended beyond the home as well. Barbara was an active member of her community, participating in various events and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her compassionate nature and willingness to support others left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross her path.
As we bid farewell to Barbara Jean Lewis, we celebrate a life rich in love and joy. Her spirit, a guiding light for her family, will continue to shine brightly in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will be honored by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends and family on Monday August 12 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Knights Baptist Church 4809 North Alexander Street Plant City, Fl. 33565. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am.
