Barbara Keaton Obituary

Barbara Fay Keaton, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Temple Terrace, Florida. Born on December 5, 1944, Barbara's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendliness that she extended to everyone she met.

Barbara's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of her parents, James Carlton Maxwell and Lily Bell. Her journey of love continued as she built her own family with her beloved husband, Curtis Keaton, and was blessed with her daughter, Debra Michelle Beach. Though they preceded her in death, along with her brother, James Maxwell Jr., and sister, Helen McCeldry, their influence and memories remained a cornerstone of her life.

Barbara's spirit is carried on by her loving family members who survive her: her siblings, Linda Goff, Glenn Maxwell Sr. and Dennie Maxwell Sr. and Billie Maxwell; and her cherished granddaughter, Bayli, and her husband, Zack Waldroup. Each of them reflects a piece of Barbara's immense capacity for love and friendship.

Professionally, Barbara dedicated many years to the South Florida Baptist Hospital, where she worked in the registration department. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life as she was an active member of the Youmans Praise and Worship Center. Barbara's faith and devotion to service were evident in all her endeavors.

Barbara's zest for life shone brightest when she was hosting a good party. Her talent for bringing people together was also showcased in her role as a wedding planner, where she created joyous celebrations that reflected the love she believed in so deeply.

In her leisure, Barbara's presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her home was often filled with laughter, music, and the kind of hospitality that made everyone feel special. Her ability to connect with people was truly remarkable, and her absence will leave a void in the hearts of many.

As we remember Barbara, we are reminded of the words of Mother Teresa, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Barbara embodied this sentiment, leaving a legacy of happiness and love in her wake.

A private service will be held to honor the beautiful life of Barbara Fay Keaton. In her memory, we celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the countless memories she has left us. Barbara's legacy of love, kindness, and friendship will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made the world a better place simply by being in it.
