Barbara Hancovsky Obituary

Barbara Frances Hancovsky, born on May 5, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Plant City, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and devoted service to others.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Klaczak. She carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life, meeting each day with a generous spirit and a warm heart. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving and kind woman whose presence brought comfort, encouragement, and grace to her family and friends.

On August 19, 1967, Barbara married the love of her life, Joseph Hancovsky Jr., and together they shared a marriage built on devotion, partnership, and enduring affection. Their life together was blessed with two children, Lisa Hancovsky and Jason Hancovsky and his wife Lisa. Barbara took great pride in her family and found joy in the bonds they shared across the years. She was also a cherished grandmother to Dylan Hancovsky and J.T. Hancovsky, who brought her immense happiness and pride.

Barbara lived a life marked by faith and service. She was a devout Catholic whose beliefs guided her actions and gave strength to her daily life. Her commitment to helping others was reflected in her volunteer work at South Florida Baptist Hospital, where she gave her time and care to those in need. She also played a meaningful role in helping build the library in Bloomingdale, a contribution that reflected her belief in the importance of learning, community, and opportunity for others.

In her personal life, Barbara found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. She loved reading and gardening, and she nurtured both her mind and her surroundings with patience and care. Her garden was a reflection of her spirit, tended with devotion and filled with beauty, just as her life was filled with kindness and quiet strength. She appreciated the value of a good book, a peaceful moment, and the company of those she loved.

Barbara will be remembered for the gentle way she lived her life and the lasting impact she made on those around her. Her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her will carry forward her memory with love and gratitude. Though her earthly journey has ended, the example she set through her faith, compassion, and devotion will continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hancovsky Jr.; her children, Lisa Hancovsky and Jason Hancovsky and his wife Lisa; and her grandchildren, Dylan Hancovsky and J.T. Hancovsky. Barbara's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, family, and faith, and she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
