Ms Ava Mae Megert

Ava M Megert, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 89. Born on May 2, 1936, in Dover Township, Ohio, Ava was a woman of grace and resilience, whose life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the joy she found in simple pleasures.
Ava was the cherished daughter of the late Neal and Erva (Brown) Durbin. She grew up surrounded by the love of her family, including her brothers Delbert (and his wife Reba) of St Petersburg, FL and Wesley (and his wife Sophia) of Bolivar, Ohio, all of whom predeceased her, as well as her surviving brother John and his wife Inez of Fairfield, California. Ava's heart was always full of love for her many nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly for her kindness and gentle spirit.
Ava was a proud graduate of New Philadelphia High School in Ohio where she laid the foundation for her professional journey that began at the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Office and later at General Telephone where she retired after many years.
Ava's marriage to the late Robert C Megert Jr. was a partnership grounded in mutual respect and affection. Together, they navigated life's journey until Robert's passing. They now rest together at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL following a private interment.
She found great companionship in their pet dogs, whose presence brought her immense comfort and happiness.
In her personal life, Ava was a devout Christian, she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Plant City. Her belief was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.
Ava's wish was to have no services so as we bid farewell to Ava, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by unwavering love, steadfast faith, and a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Ava M Megert's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who knew her. Her departure from this world is not an end but a transition to eternal peace.
