Audrey Gail Thomas, age 77, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on September 3, 2026, in the city where she was born and spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved.
Born on November 24, 1948, in Lakeland, Florida, Audrey was the daughter of Singleton Thomas Tucker and Myrtice Audrey Dail. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful.
Audrey was a Baptist and found strength and peace in her relationship with the Lord. She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching online church services, and her faith remained an important part of her daily life. Her spiritual devotion was reflected in the way she treated her family with kindness, patience, and a gentle spirit.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Singleton Thomas Tucker and Myrtice Audrey Dail, as well as her sisters, Linda Horn and Wanda Kay Henderson. She is survived by her sister, Donna Tucker; her daughter, Jessica Joiner and her husband Christopher Joiner; her grandchildren, Cayla Joiner, Chris Fulton, Dalton Joiner and Allie, and Jake Joiner; and her great-grandchildren, Camden Fulton and Sadie Joiner.
Audrey was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she treasured the time she spent with them. She was a source of comfort, wisdom, strength, and unconditional love. Her family will always carry precious memories of her laughter, her hugs, her words of wisdom, her crocheted baby blankets and the love she so truly gave.
She also enjoyed shopping, a pastime that brought her happiness as she picked out her family gifts of love.
Above all, Audrey loved the Lord and held her faith close to her heart. She found comfort in her relationship with God throughout her life, and her love for the Lord was reflected in the way she cared for and treated her family.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Audrey is now at peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Her earthly life may have come to an end, but the love she gave and the memories she created will live on through her family for generations to come.
Audrey leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will grow up knowing they were deeply loved by a very special woman who will never be forgotten.
Audrey Gail Thomas will be remembered with love and gratitude as her life was a testament to faith, family, and kindness, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
