Artemio Rosales De La Luz

Artemio Rosales De La Luz, affectionately known by many as "Chivita," passed away peacefully in Plant City, Florida, on July 25, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on July 6, 1946, in San Miguel Tecomatlan, Mexico, to the late Telesford Rosales and Alberta De La Luz, Artemio had an adventurous spirit that carried him through an extraordinary journey of life.

Before establishing roots in the United States, Chivita honorably served as a soldier in Mexico, reflecting his deep love for his country. He then dedicated many years to working in the strawberry fields of Plant City. Constantly curious and never one to shy away from a challenge, he was also an exceptional cook whose culinary abilities brought joy and comfort to those around him.

Chivita's passion for soccer was unmatched, and he was a huge supporter of his favorite team, Chivita's. (Hence Artemio's nickname Chivita.) His ability to fix almost anything earned him a reputation as being incredibly handy, and his adventurous spirit was evident to all who knew him.

Though Chivita is survived by his many brothers and sisters, including Francisco who he was close with, and numerous nieces and nephews, his story will resonate most profoundly with those who shared his daily life and camaraderie. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," a sentiment expressed by the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. Artemio approached life with the same courage and determination he showed in every step he took.

Artemio "Chivita" Rosales De La Luz will be remembered as a man who lived his life with passion, and fortitude. May he rest in peace.
