Arnold Vitelli Jr., a cherished family man, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, in Lakeland, at the age of 80. Born on October 11, 1944, in Plant City, Arnold's life was one marked by dedication, warmth, and a love for the simple joys in life.
Arnold was the beloved son of the late Arnold Vitelli and Josephine Guerino. He was a brother to Angelo Vitelli and Beatrice Sutorus, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his loving sisters, Clorinda Franklin and Carmen Sutorus. Arnold's legacy continues through his devoted wife, Alice Vitelli, and their children, Todd (Stacie) Vitelli, Denise (Brian) May, and Chris (Summer) Vitelli. His grandchildren, Frankie and Nicholas Vitelli, Brent and Breanna May, and Conner Vitelli, will carry forward the joy and kindness he instilled in them.
After graduating from high school, Arnold dedicated many years of service as an HVAC technician with Winn Dixie, where he was known for his reliability and expertise. His work was not just a job but a means to provide for the family he so deeply loved.
Arnold was a man of faith and fellowship, actively involved in the Shiloh Baptist Church community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance. He was also an occasional softball player, bringing his competitive spirit and friendly demeanor to the field.
A true Floridian at heart, Arnold was an avid supporter of the Florida Gators. His adventurous spirit was often showcased through his love for the team, whether he was cheering from the stands or from his living room surrounded by family.
Arnold's love for his family was evident in the way he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. He was a constant presence in their lives, from attending their sporting events to teaching them life's valuable lessons. His grandchildren will remember him as a guiding light, full of wisdom and love.
As we remember Arnold, we are reminded of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Arnold's life was indeed a testament to these words, as he made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Arnold Vitelli Jr.'s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the memories he created with his family and friends. As we bid farewell to Arnold, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of kindness, adventure, and friendship will continue to inspire us all.
