Anthony Clayton Holt Sr., known affectionately as Tony, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on November 2, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, Tony's life was a testament to the love, joy, and generosity he shared with everyone around him.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Fletcher Holt, and his sister, Althea Neal. He leaves behind a legacy of love, including his devoted mother, Audrey Oliver; his beloved wife of 50 years, Brenda Holt; his children, Tony (married to Crystal), Caleb (married to Lacey) Holt, and Erin (married to Zadok) Mills. His siblings, Eddie, Elizabeth, Linda, Junior, B.B., Clyde, Karen, Jay, and Tim, will also hold his memory dear. Tony's joy was multiplied through his grandchildren, Gabby (married to Connor) King, Logan, Trevor, Taylor, Elijah, Lillian, Claire, Gunnar, Sadie, Gavin, and Summer, and his great-granddaughter, Juliana King.
Tony was a pillar of the community as an active member of Plant City Church of God. His dedication to his faith was evident in his involvement with Royal Rangers and his instrumental role in the construction of the Ranger building. His professional life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Brandon Water Systems, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Those who knew Tony will remember him for his ability to fill a room with his presence. His joy was infectious, and his love for worshiping his Lord was profound. He was always quick to pray for others, demonstrating his deep faith and caring nature. Tony cherished his grandchildren and found great pleasure in spending time with them. His cabin in the mountains of Georgia was a treasured retreat where he made countless memories with his family.
Tony's interests reflected his zest for life and the importance of family. He was a man who could be described by many words, but 'loving' and 'generous' were at the core of who he was. He had the unique ability to make each person feel valued and loved, a trait that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we remember Tony, we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7, ''I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.'' Tony was a strong man, and he fought hard until the very end. Though his body grew weak, his spirit remained strong. He loved people and made everyone feel cherished and important. A legacy that will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Anthony Clayton Holt Sr.'s life was one of purpose, love, and unwavering faith. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. As we bid farewell to Tony, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
