Ann Margaret (Leary) Kodra, a woman whose laughter and love knew no bounds, embarked on her final adventure on January 26, 2025, in Plant City, FL, leaving behind a legacy of joy and a puzzle half-finished. Born on August 6, 1960, in the beautiful city of Newport, RI, Ann's journey was one filled with stories, stitches, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a well-lived life.
Ann's family was her pride and joy, and she was the glue that held them all together. Her parents, Raymond Moore Leary and Jean Madonna Levesque, predeceased her, but she carried their spirit in her infectious smile. Her significant other, Steve Minton, was her rock for 25 years, and together they navigated the beautiful chaos of a blended family. Her children, Christopher (Amber) Williams, Katherine Bamber, Kelly Williams, Matthew Kodra, and Hannah (Chris) Sullivan, were her greatest accomplishments, and she was the proudest of grandmothers to Kendrah, Alana, TJ, Ella, Maggie Jean, Kameron, Jacie, Raymond, and Khai. Her sister, Susan M. Sipprelle, shared in the laughter and the tears, and together they created memories that could fill a library. Ann's heart held a special place for her granddaughter Shaelyn Bamber, who had gone on ahead to set up the family reunion in the sky.
At the sprightly age of 50, Ann proved that it's never too late to chase your dreams, earning her associate's in psychology with the kind of enthusiasm that could light up a room. Her family cheered the loudest, knowing full well that Ann's degree was just a formal acknowledgment of what they had always known: she was the go-to person for wisdom and comfort.
Ann's interests were as varied as they were rich; Ann loved puzzles, cross-stitching, and reading. Her love for the beach was only rivaled by her passion for Rhode Island's culinary delights—Del's Lemonade and Vienna's Bakery Pizza were her soul food. Her love for a good chat was legendary; she could strike up a conversation with a statue and leave it feeling heard. Ann's love for her family was the North Star of her existence, guiding her through life's ebbs and flows.
Ann Margaret (Leary) Kodra, the woman who loved with her whole heart and laughed with her whole being, will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and the way she made the world a brighter place just by being in it.
