Andrew Thomas Thorpe, departed from this world on September 15, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on August 11, 1939, in Stanton, Kentucky, Tom's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of kindness and a deep-seated love for his family and friends. He passed away peacefully in Winter Haven, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Predeceased by his parents, Chester Arthur Tharp and Abbie Tomlin, as well as his beloved wife of 51 years, Evelyn Martin Thorpe, and his sons, Christopher Thorpe and Andrew Thorpe, Tom's memory will be forever held in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his adoring children, Wanda (Tim) Wygal, Dale (Cathy) Thorpe, Tonia Thorpe, Audrey (Kenny) VanHoose, Mabel (Danny) Thorpe-Miller, and Beverly (Jeff) Thorpe. His legacy continues to flourish through his twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons of love and kindness he instilled in them.
Tom's life was characterized by his loving nature, a testament to the friendly and kind-hearted individual he was. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his warm smile could light up any room. As a dedicated member of the Asbestos Workers Union Local #67, he worked diligently to provide for his family and was respected by his colleagues for his strong work ethic and camaraderie.
An outdoorsman at heart, Tom found solace in the tranquility of nature. He loved to hunt and fish, embracing the serenity and challenge that came with these pursuits. These moments spent in the great outdoors were among his most treasured times, providing him with a sense of peace and fulfillment.
Tom's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and friendship. He approached each day with a friendly demeanor and a heart full of generosity. His impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd Plant City, FL 33563.
