Allison "Al" Floyd Smith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather
brother, and proud Navy veteran, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on October
4, 2025. Born on February 8, 1948, in Plant City, Florida, Al lived a life marked by hard
work, love, and kindness.
Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Smith, the love of his
life, with whom he shared decades of laughter, devotion, and memories. He was also
preceded by his parents, Norma Jean McCartel and Ed Collins and his brothers,
Richard Smith and Kelley Gene Smith Jr.
He is survived by his brother, Wade Smith, his sister-in-law Betty Virginia Blanton and
his beloved children, Allison Smith Jr., Kelley & Paige Smith, and Carrie Smith & Robert
Gaston, as well as his grandchildren: Mia Roza, Milo Roza, AJ Smith, Jaden & Kindyl
Smith, Mackenzie & Javier Torres, Emilee Smith & Travis Carwile, Ryan Smith, Cooper
Vickery, and Keylee Bridgeman.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Hayden Smith, Waylon Smith, Paisley
Smith, Maddie Torres, Callie Torres, and Scarlett Smith.
A Navy veteran, Al proudly served his country with honor before beginning a career as
a welder and truck driver. He was known for his love of nature, calm demeanor, and
ability to find humor in every situation. Those who knew Al will remember his love for
simple pleasures, long drives through the back roads, old country music, a deviled
crab from Linda's Crab Shack, fishing on the river, and a little dog or cat curled up in
his lap.
To his family, Al was dependable, kind, and always there when you needed him. He
was a man who never met a stranger and always had a story to share. Al's love and
compassion for animals showed in his abilities to tame even the wildest creature, and
the raccoons on the back porch proved it.
Al's life was defined by the sweetest devotion to his wife and now he's reunited with his
beloved Jackie, we take comfort in knowing they are together again, at peace and
surrounded by everlasting love, friendship, and laughter.
