William “Bill” Slaughenhoupt, age 91, of Plant City, passed away on January 7, 2018. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Earle and Irene Forsythe Slaughenhoupt. Bill moved with his family to Florida in 1971. Survivors include his beloved wife: Mary Ann Slaughenhoupt, daughter: Cheryl Hurley, granddaughter: Rebecca Hurley and younger brother: Jay Lee Slaughenhoupt. Bill was a member of the Masonic Ohio Lodge, 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite and Egypt Temple Shrine. He was the former owner of X ACT Supply Company of Tampa, and the Double Star Ranch in Plant City. He enjoyed sailing, traveling with his wife in his motor home, riding horses, photography and model air planes. Bill served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Haught Funeral Home with services beginning at 7:30 PM. Haught Funeral Home is located at 708 W.
