Born in Detroit, MI., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude McGowan Gough.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Gough.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward McIlroy; seven children, Colleen McIlroy, Michael (Tracy) McIlroy, Karen (Don) Deisenroth, Cheryl McIlroy, Maureen (Darwin) Knecht, Patrick (Rena) McIlroy, and Margaret McDermott; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Shirley was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church.
The family will be having private services.
