ALMA JEANETTE CLAAR (July 30, 1931 – February 27, 2019)
JEAN CLAAR (Alma Jeanette Claar), formerly Jean Broughman (Ussery), age 87, of Seffner, Florida was called home to join the Lord Jesus Christ in glory. She is survived by her husband Charles, two Children Wes and Debbie, her grandchildren Chris (Rose), Chad, Derrick, and Courtney, great-grandchildren, Christian, Victoria, and Jacob, and her niece Suzette.
Jean proudly served as an Executive Banker at SunTrust Bank in Tampa, Florida serving the needs of Corporate America. She was a devoted daughter who looked after the financial estate and healthcare of her own mother, whom she often enjoyed as a travel companion.
Jean had the gracious gift of hospitality and was known for her ability to throw the most memorable theme parties that brought her family closer together. Jean’s love for southern cooking and gardening was shared by all those who enjoyed the delicious food she prepared and the lovely flowers and plants she cared for that brought beauty to our world.
Jean lived life to the fullest, and was up for any adventure. With her husband Charlie, she served as part of the First Baptist Church of Seffner, and traveled with Campers on Mission (CoM). She traveled much of the United States in her motor home, spreading the love of Jesus, re-building burned down churches, and ministering to people who had suffered loss from natural disaster. Jean has walked the Arizona Stone Mesa, seen the Whales in Alaska, and traveled the cobblestones streets of Europe.
Her laugh was infectious and she was an ever present, concerned and gracious mentor for her family. Anyone who knew her felt how she cared for people. She is deeply missed.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W Dr MLK Jr Blvd, Plant City, FL 33563. Funeral services will follow at 4:30 PM
